Our Story
Asan Yoga Shop was born from a journey that began long before the idea of a digital wellness store.
For years, Asan Yoga has been a space where yoga practitioners come to learn, explore, practice and evolve. What started as a yoga institute gradually grew into a community of like-minded people who believe in health, wellbeing and the transformative power of yoga.
Over the years, our founder Deepika, with 15+ years of experience in yoga and having guided 1,000+ practitioners, closely observed a common challenge among practitioners — having access to the right knowledge and the right tools for a safe and effective practice.
Many practitioners arrived with concerns such as limited flexibility, poor posture, back or joint discomfort, or difficulty maintaining a consistent practice because of demanding corporate lifestyles. At the same time, there was often confusion about which yoga prop or wellness product was appropriate, how it should be used, and whether it genuinely supported their practice.
This led to a simple but powerful realization:
Yoga is not only about learning the right asana. It is also about having the right understanding, support and tools to practice consciously and safely.
With this vision, Asan Yoga Shop was created — a digital extension of the Asan Yoga ecosystem designed to bring together knowledge, thoughtfully selected yoga props and health-oriented wellness products that complement everyday practice and holistic living.
Our Founders
The vision became stronger when Shilpa, our co-founder, joined Deepika on this journey. With more than 15 years of corporate experience in management, travel operations, Sales and team leadership, Shilpa brings a complementary perspective to the brand.
Her decision to become part of Asan Yoga Shop comes from her own love for yoga and the transformation she has experienced through being part of the Asan Yoga community.
Together, Deepika and Shilpa bring two powerful perspectives — deep yoga expertise and professional management experience — to create a platform that understands both the practitioner and the products that support their journey.
